Today was the first day of Fall classes at IUS and I am proud to say that I am a member of the Freshman class. Life drug me around a bit before allowing me this opportunity and I plan to take full advantage of it.
After a 26 year hiatus from the classroom I didn't just jump into this decision. Ok, I did just jump into this decision but I did formulate a plan for the leap.
Actually, I started classes over the Summer. Initially I took two classes, Intro Psychology and Philosophy. Had to drop the Philosophy. I am not really sure what was going on there but it was just so way over my head. Or maybe more to the point it was just so hmmmm....pointless. Proving my existence? Do I really need to? Anyway, I got out of there while the gettin' was good, which left me with just the Psychology.
The Psychology class was a great choice. Valerie Scott was the professor and I couldn't have hand picked a better one. The way she presented the class materials and the variety of methods she used in teaching helped me tremendously in relearning how to be a student. If you get an opportunity to take a class with her DO IT!
So, with one class under my belt I started full time today. How was it? It was good. It was a first day, not a lot gets accomplished on first days. I'll dish when there is more to tell.
That is it for now. In my next post I will talk about how to create the perfect class schedule!
